Symphony No. 14 (2024)

Jeffrey A. Young
Symphony No. 14 (2024)

I. Allegro
II. Slow March
III. Scherzo
IV. Allegro

Like a marching band in the distance, Symphony No. 14 starts with a short percussion feature. The second movement of the symphony begins with a bassoon duet, reminiscent of Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra. The third movement is a lively scherzo, featuring the mallets and the fourth movement is pulsating dance movement featuring the percussion. Symphony No. 14 is an amalgamation of styles brought together to form a typical, classical symphony.
