This symphony departs slightly from the typical classical model, in that the second movement is the triple meter one, with it being a waltz. The musicianship of the percussion section will be displayed in the first movement, which settles into a marching tune after a quite opening. The second movement is a quiet waltz, and the third a multimeter frolic. The fourth, after opening with a drone settle into a duple meter dance movement. This symphony stays true to the origins of the symphony, featuring music that would formerly be danced to.
