Be Thou my Vision, in it’s original form, is an ancient Celtic hymn. The hymn’s words have been revised in modern times to fit our modern age, and it has been set to an Irish folk song, as the original melody has been lost. The tune uses as it’s melodic material a hexachord common to Irish music. This offering is a theme and variations upon this tune.
