Symphony No. 9 features danceable melodies over rhythmically pulsing motor rhythms. The first movement is especially illustrative of that idea. The solemn melody that begins the second and is the theme for the second movement gives way to wild Scherzo in the third movement. A fund gig begins the fourth, and is soon accompanied by a multi meter idea that joins in a dance like music.
